So many possibilities with these coloured clay pebbles! Hydro grains are also sometimes referred to by the brand name Argex or Leca. That stands for 'Lightweight expanded clay aggregate'. They are clay granules that have been expanded by heating, making them airy but also able to absorb a lot of moisture. Hydro grains are hugely sustainable as you can reuse them indefinitely. The only thing you could do is wash them for a while before using them again. So don't throw them away with the old potting soil, but take some time to pick them out of the ground to reuse. It is more sustainable.
